Horse Riding Lessons

Private Riding Lessons

We offer private and semi-private 45-minute lessons from beginner to advanced. With a focus on solid position foundation, new riders can expect the best possible start to their riding careers on safe and experienced school horses. More advanced riders can take instruction in dressage and jumping with a focus on balance and correct movement on their own horse, or a horse provided.

For those just beginning their riding journey, our beginner and youth programs offer the ideal foundation. Katie and Jordan introduce new riders to the basics of horsemanship and riding in a safe, supportive environment.

Part Boarding & Leasing

Investing adequate time, repetition and practice helps build better riders and better horses. For this reason, we strongly recommend that students serious about their riding development ride multiple times a week - either in multiple lessons or through part-boarding.

Riding multiple times a week helps solidify muscle memory in the rider and gives them a chance to practice what they've been learning in their lessons. We also recommend that riders wishing to pursue jumping have both a flat and jumping lesson per week to aid in the development of both themselves and their horse.

We have a range of quality, athletic horses up for lease and part board for those wanting a fuller equestrian experience: contact us for details.

“I was blown away after my first lesson with Jenn. She has a unique knowledge and perspective of riding cause and effect. She truly cares about improving communication between rider and horse so they are in harmony with each other.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We accept students from age five and up. Five and six year olds have 30 minute lessons, while students seven and up have 45 minute lessons. This is to ensure our youngest students have the most positive experience possible while they’re just starting out.

  • There’s nothing we value more than the safety of our students. To ensure proper hygienic practices as well as following the recommendations of helmet manufacturers, we do not provide helmets to our students.

As for equipment, all you are required to have to begin lessons is a properly fitted helmet and foot-ware with a heel (such as Blundstones, paddock boots or rain boots). However, though it’s not a requirement to ride, we do also recommend having a crash vest, gloves, and properly fitted riding breeches as well.

  • Yes, you can book an introductory lesson. I’ll show you around the farm, get some information from you, and you’ll have a 45-minute lesson. Introductory lessons take place on Fridays and Saturdays only.

Once you begin lessons, the minimum commitment is by the month, as lesson schedules are created in monthly blocks. Our school doesn’t operate on semesters, allowing you to start and stop lessons anytime.

  • In order to best instruct each student, we offer exclusively private lessons. This allows the full attention of the instructor to be placed on the student to create an environment optimized for learning.

  • Of course! We are happy to have volunteers help out around the farm. We also sign off on community service hours for high school students. Contact us for more details!
